Wendy R. Pick age 49 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Ava’s Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Marilyn Hasemann officiating. Burial will be at the Coleridge City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, at church, from 5-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.

Honorary Pallbearers include Stan Janssen, Allen Vogt, and Dick Lentz.
Wendy Rae was born on February 25, 1975 in Yankton, SD to David Charles and Marlene Ann (Vogt) Pick. She grew up in the Coleridge area and graduated from Coleridge Community Schools in 1993. She then attended and graduated from Northeast Community College in Norfolk with a secretarial degree. Wendy worked for K-Mart, Gurney’s Seed and Nursery in Yankton, SD and then as a dietary aide for Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge. Wendy also helped with her mother’s business Countryside Homespun Creations where she enjoyed designing quilt blocks, lap quilts and many other treasures. Their business donated many quilts to the Sanford Hospital over the years. She and Marlene would travel to craft shows to show and sell their creations.
Wendy was always an “organizer” and was strong in her faith. She loved growing plants, being on social media and following and watching her nieces and nephews many activities. Wendy was involved in 4-H and was the 4-H flower exhibits superintendent at the Cedar County Fair for many years. She helped her mother raise goats and documented all their births, sales etc.
Wendy is survived by her mother Marlene of Coleridge; two sisters and spouses Brandy (Neil) Wallin of Vermillion, SD, Misty (Travis) Wells of Vermillion; seven nieces and nephews; her uncle Allen Vogt of Grand Island; and her beloved cat – Sparkler.
She was preceded in death by her father David on 11/7/2003 at the age of 59 years; and her grandparents.
