Wayne Milton Schrempp, age 85, of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is assisting with the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Tim Kuchta, Craig Leise, Steven Spang, Daryl Leise, Robbie Leise and Sean May.
Wayne was born on October 6, 1934 in St. Helena, Nebraska to Edmund Fredolin and Caroline Amanda (Arens) Schrempp. He spent the first 8 years of his life on a farm near St. Helena where he attended District 13 School. In 1942 they moved to a farm west of Hartington. Wayne graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1953 and then farmed and raised purebred Hereford cattle with his dad. Wayne spent his entire life enjoying working on the farm. It was only in the past few years that he was cared for at the Wausa Care and Rehabilitation Center and Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge.
Wayne was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. He loved music and sports, particularly the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Wayne is survived by 3 sisters, Wilma Jean Leise of Hartington; Donna Spang of Carnation, Washington, LaVonne and Roger Leise of Elkhorn, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Carol Leise.
