Sharon Lee Jacobsen, age 82 of Council Bluffs, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the United Lutheran Church in Laurel, Nebraska with Rev. Matthew Quanbeck officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Shane Jacobsen, Wyatt Jacobsen, Shelby Jacobsen, Lance Jacobsen, Jim Kennelly and Domonick Kennelly.
Sharon was born on April 29, 1936 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Earl and Theda (Batten) Reiff. She grew up in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1954. After high school, Sharon worked several office jobs in Omaha, Nebraska. On November 16, 1963, she married Harold Edward Jacobsen in Council Bluffs. After their marriage, Sharon and Harold lived in Blair, Nebraska where Sharon was a homemaker. On February 15, 1995, Harold died at the age of 65. After his death, Sharon lived in several assisted living centers in Omaha and McCook, Nebraska. On November 15, 2012, she moved to the Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs.
Sharon was a former member of the First Lutheran Church in Blair, Nebraska. She enjoyed music and played classical piano. Sharon also sang in church choirs and sang for the Omaha Symphonic Chorus. She was a very religious woman.
Sharon is survived by her son Eric Jacobsen of Pisgah, Iowa; 2 grandchildren Gabrielle Marie Jacobsen and Caleb John Jacobsen; and a brother Ron Reiff of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Jacobsen, and a sister-in-law, Joy Lee Reiff.
