Sandy Hansen, age 70, of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at her residence after a brief illness.
Funeral services are 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, Nebraska, with Reverend Marilyn Hasemann officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Coleridge, Nebraska. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge, Nebraska.
Pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews: Stefanie Rhode, Keri Carlson, Dr. Jenny Flum, Ashley Green, Dr. Sarah Haag, Dana Hansen, Leah Waid, Libby Hansen, Tyler Specht, Michael Waid, Dr. Bryce Hansen, Matthew Waid, and Peter Hansen.
Sandy Hansen was born June 5, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Dallas and Marilyn (Brodersen) Hansen. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, Nebraska. She graduated from Coleridge High School in 1971, and then attended Creighton University and University of Nebraska Omaha. She lived and worked in Omaha, Nebraska; Seattle, Washington; Anchorage, Alaska; Austin, Texas; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Ames, Iowa; Yankton and Vermillion, South Dakota. She was an intelligent, worry free woman who enjoyed watching sports, playing bridge and sheepshead, and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her mother, Marilyn Hansen of Hartington, Nebraska; five siblings: Cherine (Jim) Specht of Hartington; Dr. Dale (Dr. Sandra) Hansen of Lincoln, Nebraska; Dr. Lori (Dr. Michael Waid) Hansen of Yankton, South Dakota; David (Karla) Hansen of Hartington; Dr. Calvin (Dr. Kathleen) Hansen of Des Moines, Iowa; step-brother, Byron (Cheryl) Hansen of Kearney, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Hansen; step-father, Claire Hansen; and nieces: Kasey Hansen and Lacey and Stacey Specht.
