Sandra Jean Teusink was born November 8, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Clifford and Lillian (Cappen) Brown. Her father worked for the Corp of Engineers in the construction of the dams along the Missouri River, so Sandee grew up in Pierre and Chamberlain, SD. She graduated from Chamberlain High School and then started working at Associates Financial Services. Sandee was transferred to the Yankton branch in 1972. She married Donald Teusink on February 22, 1974 in Yankton. Sandee worked at First National Bank in Yankton for several years and then moved to the First National Bank Card Center where she worked for over 25 years, retiring at age 62.
Sandee loved collecting all sorts of things but was especially into spoons, plates, beanie babies and bells. She loved to read and was always looking for the next romance novel. Sandee enjoyed playing games and cards with her husband and family and was an exceptionally good canasta player. She always enjoyed entertaining and having company over to the house. Sandee treated her children’s friends as if they were part of the family and everyone just simply called her mom. Sandee was a great blessing and she was greatly loved.
Sandee is survived by her husband, Don Teusink of Yankton; three children: Greg (Arlene) Kathan of Yankton, Andrea (Jerry) Smith of Sioux Falls, SD and Jeff Teusink of Vancouver, WA; four grandchildren: Lillian and Ashton Smith, Addisyn and Rory Teusink; one brother, Jim (Florie) Brown of Sebring, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Sandee was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Clifford, Neil, Rick and Don Brown.
