Rodney Francis Lammers, age 79 of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Constance, NE with Rev Andy Phan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Constance. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will continue on Saturday, at church, from 9:30 am until service time. The Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington is assisting with the arrangements. Pallbearers will be Ryan Johnson, Curt Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Ken Thoene, Marcel Kramer, and Pat Steffen. Rodney Francis Lammers was born on January 13, 1940 to Alfred Anton and Pauline Teresa (Arens) Lammers in Hartington, NE. He grew up in the Hartington area and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1958. After high school, Rodney farmed with his dad raising livestock and grain. Rodney was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was also part of the National Farmer’s Organization and was involved with the Center of Rural Affairs. Rodney is survived by a brother, Dennis & Rita Lammers of Blair, NE; two sisters, Jolene & Bill Johnson of Madison, SD, and Janice & Arlyn Berg of Edgerton, KS, and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Lammers, and nephew Brett Lammers. The Lammers family would like to thank the staff at the Arbor Care Center in Hartington & Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD for their kind and compassionate care.
