Rita Marie Donner

Rita Marie Donner, age 94 of Hartington, Nebraska died at her residence on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton, NE. Visitation will be on Friday, at church, from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.

Rita Marie was born in Dimock, SD to Casper and Anna (Schoenfelder) Meirose. She married George Arthur Donner on October 12, 1948 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Bow Valley, NE. Whose death came too soon, George passed away on February 2, 1966. After this, Rita established a home for her children, went to college for her LPN in 1972 her RN in 1981, working as a nurse until she retired.

The strength of Rita’s faith helped her endure the struggles of life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, knitting & crocheting handiwork & crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her 12 children, numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, George Donner and son Roger Donner. Also, her parents, Casper & Anna Meirose, two brothers and infant sister.
