Phyllis A. Hunhoff, age 59, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November, 14, 2018, at St. Agnes Sigel Catholic Church in rural Utica, South Dakota with Reverend Anthony Urban officiating. Burial will be in the Sigel Cemetery in rural Utica. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton, South Dakota from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 with a rosary and vigil service at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton and process to St. Agnes Sigel for the Mass at 10:30 AM.
Phyllis A. Hunhoff was born November 20, 1958, in Yankton, South Dakota to Edward and Catherine (McDonald) Hunhoff. She grew up in the Sigel Community and in 1977, graduated from Yankton High School. She then began working at Valley State Bank in Yankton which eventually became First National Bank. Phyllis worked at this bank for over 40 years, and was involved with all aspects of banking.
She was a member of St. Agnes Sigel Catholic Church and other various organizations. She will be remembered as a caring, loving and faithful servant of God. She was a dedicated, strong willed, compassionate woman who was always ready to listen. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her S & B Stitching Club. She loved her family, spending a lot of time on the farm with her mother.
Survivors include her mother, Catherine Hunhoff of Utica, South Dakota; sister, Mary Hunhoff of Lincoln, Nebraska and two brothers: Joseph (Suzanne) Hunhoff of Bloomfield, Nebraska and Francis (Kristi) Hunhoff of Yankton; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward; grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
