Oma Arlene Jacobsen age 88 of Hartington, Nebraska died unexpectedly on Monday, March 22, 2021 at her residence. A public memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, Nebraska with Pastor Amanda Talley officiating. A private family burial will be at the Hartington City Cemetery following her service. The family requests masks be worn by everyone attending the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Oma Arlene was born on June 18, 1932 in Coleridge, Nebraska to Ole and Ruth (Starks) Andrews.  She grew up in the Coleridge area and attended elementary school at Logan Valley east of Coleridge. She married Adolph Pfund at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge.  Oma moved to the San Fernando Valley in California. While raising her family, she was a foster parent for many babies over the years.  Oma lived in California from 1956-1973.  She moved to Coleridge in 1973, working at the Coleridge Café then Hartington Neu Cheese Plant.  Oma also spent her time decorating cakes for people for over 50 years.  She married Don Jacobsen on September 11, 2004 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington Oma is survived by her husband Don of Hartington; four children Debra (Chuck) Przelomiec of Oak Park, CA, Joan (Bruce) Brodersen of Lincoln, NE, Robert (Corinne) Pfund of Billings, MT, Steve Vargas of Colorado; Debra’s children - Paul (Julianne) and infant Hazel, Allison, Ryan; Joan’s children - Emily (John) and their children Benjamin & William, Laura, Kevin (Nicole); Robert’s children – Brittany (Jared) and their children Rory and Lawson, Miranda, Breanna. Oma was preceded in death by her parents Ole and Ruth Andrews; four brothers Lee Andrews, Clifford Andrews, Floyd Andrews, Frank (Dick) Andrews; three sisters Stella Anderson, Eunice Nelson, and Jean Minarik.
