Michael R. Mitchell

Michael R. Mitchell, age 50 of Concord, Nebraska died on Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home in Concord, NE. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Concord, Nebraska with Pastor Todd Thelan officiating. Michael Richard was born on March 5, 1968 in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard Thayne and Carol Louise (McDonald) Mitchell. Michael lived and attended school in South Sioux City, NE. After school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Michael successfully completed his training in Ft. Benning, Georgia. After being honorably discharged, Michael’s life work was in the construction industry. Michael was an avid fisherman. His favorite place to be was fishing for walleye in Pierre, SD, and being surrounded by friends and family. Michael was known for his quick wit and finding humor in any situation. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two children, daughter Brittany Mitchell of Sloan, Iowa; son Zachary Mitchell of Concord; two grandchildren Liberty Sidney and Phoenix Mead of Sloan; father Richard (Amy) Mitchell of Fremont, NE; brother William (Bill) Mitchell of Vallejo, CA; sister Mary Yen of Des Moines, IA. Michael was preceded in death by his mother Carol (McDonald) Mitchell; grandparents Kenrick Russell (K.R.) and Faye Mitchell; Lester (Pete) and Frances McDonald.
