Mary E. Kneifl

Mary Elizabeth Kneifl age 72 of Laurel, Nebraska and formerly of Dixon, NE joined our heavenly Father on Friday, December 3, 2021 while being a resident at Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dixon, NE with the Rev. Jerry Conneally officiating. A luncheon will follow the mass at the Dixon Community Center prior to burial.  A family burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Newcastle, NE.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, at church, from 9:30 a.m. until service time.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel, NE. Pallbearers will be Sarah Kneifl, John Kneifl, Ben Kneifl, Jason Kneifl, Kristin McDonald, Katie Olson, Emily Holstein, Eddie Remm, Austin Remm.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Hillcrest Care Center Staff. Mary Elizabeth was born on September 5, 1949.  She grew up in Dixon County and attended country school and Laurel High School.  Mary helped raise her siblings, worked on the farm and babysat for all the children in the neighborhood.  She loved cooking, enjoyed music of all kinds and family time.  Mary lived on the same farm her entire life where she loved to be.  She had been a resident of Hillcrest since 2013. Mary is survived by four siblings, Michael Kneifl of Sioux Falls, SD, Patrick Kneifl of Yankton, SD, Anne (Edward) Remm of Omaha, NE, Ray (Sharon) Kneifl of Dixon, NE; nine nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents Mike and Ursula Kneifl. Memorials may be directed to the Kneifl Family for a later designation.
