Marlene M. Ahlers, age 62, of Yankton, South Dakota, died unexpectedly on Friday, November 19, 2021 at her home.
Memorial services are 2:00 PM, on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Jeff Otterman officiating. Inurnment will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
Marlene was born December 23, 1958 in Yankton, South Dakota to Lloyd and Darlene (Swensen) Kuchta. She lived on a farm near Mayfield, SD and moved west of Yankton when she was in the first grade. Marlene graduated from Yankton High School in 1977. After school, she moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she worked at various jobs. On September 14, 1985, Marlene married Rick Ahlers. They were married for around 10 years. In the early 2010’s, Marlene moved back to Yankton. She was an independent, strong-willed woman. She loved riding motorcycles and loved the company of her many cats.
Marlene is survived by her brother, Kenny Kuchta of Yankton; several cousins; and many friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents.
