Mark Leo Zentmire, age 66 of Yankton, South Dakota passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, November 15, 2019.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with the Rev. Levi Willms officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Mark Leo was born on February 2, 1953 in Sioux City, Iowa to Leo Alexander and Dorothy (Eriksen) Zentmire. Mark lived in Homer, Nebraska until the age of 10 and then moved with his parents to South Sioux City, Nebraska. He graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1971 and from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa in 1976. Mark married Marcia Cannon on May 18, 1977 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Mark worked at Foodliner Grocery Store in Sioux City as the Produce Department Manager for a few years and then worked for Wells Dairy in LeMars, Iowa as a sales representative for 30 years. Mark retired at the end of 2015. Retirement wasn’t for him so in 2016 he went to work part time for Hy-Vee in Yankton.
Nobody could make Mark smile more than his daughters, sons-in-law, and his grandchildren. All of them were the apple of his eye.
Mark loved to garden and watch flowers grow and be with his family.
Mark is survived by his wife Marcia of Yankton; two daughters Jennifer (Tyler) Novak of Yankton, Michelle (Anthony) Curtis of Yankton; and two grandchildren Mason & Mackenzie Novak.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older sister Mary Laudner.
