Margaret Lentz age 87 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at her residence while under Hospice care.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Marilyn Hasemann officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Coleridge. Visitation will be on Sunday, at church, from 4-6:00 p.m. and will continue on Monday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.

Pallbearers will be Tate Stolpe, Austen Roland, Dave Gubbels, Ron Jorgensen, Robert Kalin, and Loren Paulsen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Margaret’s Caregivers.
Margaret Frances was born on October 3, 1936 in Wayne, Nebraska to Henry and Jessie (Burmester) Claus. She grew up on a farm south of Wayne and graduated from Wayne High School in 1954. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State College in 1969 and her Master’s degree in 1973. She first taught school at District 69 southwest of Wayne for three years. Margaret married Richard Harrison Lentz on June 9, 1957 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wayne, NE. She then taught country school east of Hartington for six years then taught 1st grade at Coleridge Elementary for 33 years. In total, Margaret devoted her life to education for 43 years. She was also elementary coordinator and committee chairperson for many years.
Margaret was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma, loved bowling and was on several bowling leagues in Coleridge and then Laurel. She enjoyed ceramics, making photo albums, word searches, and travelling with Richard. They were able to visit all 50 states by their 50 anniversary. They travelled to 14 countries in Europe, driving in nine of them. Margaret and Richard also enjoyed the cruises they took.
Margaret is survived by her husband Richard of Coleridge of 66 years, four months, and eight days; daughter Penny (Reed) Stolpe of Magnet; two grandsons Sage and Tate Stolpe; three sisters Maryann Langemeier of Farmington, MO, Jane (Art) Fryslie of Vienna, SD, Betty (Brent) Batten of Clearwater, KS; one brother John (Kay) Claus of Columbus, NE; brother-in-law Milo Kocourek of Hastings; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son David Lentz; a sister Joyce Kocourek.
