Lyla Ruud, age 92, formerly of Fremont, Nebraska, died on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House in Yankton, South Dakota.
A private family graveside service will take place at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
Lyla is survived by her three children: Karl (Veronne) Ruud of Wichita, KS, Karen Shuler of Yankton, SD and Kris (David) Cameron of Helena, MT; five grandsons: Brian Ruud of Edmund, OK, Kevin (Emily) Ruud of Center Valley, PA, Ryan Shuler of Augusta, GA, Clayton Cameron of Bellingham, WA and Cullin Cameron of Helena, MT; two great grandchildren, Olivia and Hadley Ruud of Edmund, OK; and one great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her beloved partner of 10 years, Ron Bentley of Troy, MI.
Lyla was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth Ruud; son-in-law, Jim Shuler; and sisters, Violet Haecke and Genevieve Romans.
