Lori Marie Burton

Lori Marie Burton, age 62 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her residence as a result of a house fire. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. A visitation gathering of family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m. until service time Friday evening. Burial of her cremated remains will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Coleridge next to her parents. Lori Marie Burton was born on October 21, 1956 in Yankton, South Dakota to Lorton Lyle & Lorine Coletta (Menke) Burton. She grew up south of Hartington and graduated from Randolph High School in 1974. Lori then attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk. Her mother Lorine died on May 22, 2001 at the age of 79 years. Her father Lorton then died on August 2, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Lori continued to live on the farm where she had the same love as her father for the “Ranching” way of life. Lori loved watching over her farm. She enjoyed crafting and especially knitting and crocheting. She loved having outings for lunch and shopping and was very thankful for those that would help her in her time of need. Lori found great support by concerned friends and neighbors after the death of her parents. Lori enjoyed giving gifts for all occasions and giving Halloween treats to the neighbor’s children and loved attending her class reunions at Randolph. Her faithful and fearless companion was her dog Rocky. Lori is survived by cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lorton and Lorine Burton, several aunts and uncles.
