Lois Beverlin, age 86, of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, on Wednesday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.
Pallbearers are Kasandra Rossiter and Allison Havrilek. Honorary pallbearers are Emmett, Anthony and Greyson Rossiter and Jordan Rossiter in memory.
Lois was born February 29, 1932 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Raymond and Hilda (Stimson) Roberts. She graduated from Crofton High School in Crofton, Nebraska and then moved to Portland, Oregon where she met Eugene Beverlin. They were married on January 17, 1954 and worked as motel managers until they moved to Yankton in 1988. Lois worked at Hastings Manufacturing until she retired. She was a family woman and always had a seat at her table and a plate of good food for anyone who would come by at dinnertime. Aside from spending time with her family, Lois loved to craft and plastic canvas was her favorite. She loved to bake and she loved her family more than anything else. She had a happy life with no regrets. She was a strong woman who was very clever and funny. Lois loved bingo and a little video lottery from time to time.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Debra (Burl) Williams of Yankton; two granddaughters, Kasandra (Trey) Rossiter and Allison Havrilek, both of Colorado Springs, CO; and three great grandchildren: Emmett, Anthony and Greyson Rossiter.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Beverlin on March 25, 2004; grandson, Jordan Rossiter; two brothers and two sisters.
