Linda Elaine Alberts

Linda Elaine Alberts was a generous and courageous wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She left this world on February 17, 2021 at the age of 77, with her daughters by her side. A family service will be held at a later date.  If you would like to memorialize Linda, please donate to the World Literacy Foundation or The Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation on her behalf.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota. Linda was born to Alfred and Dorthea King on September 17, 1943 in Grand Island, Nebraska. She married the love of her life, Bill Alberts, on September 3, 1960.  Together they raised their 4 children Sonia, Grace, Jennifer and Will while farming south of Aurora, Nebraska. Linda loved to read; her favorite childhood book was The Secret Garden.  A good book, a cup of coffee and her cat snuggled up on her lap was her happy place.  She loved to play cards, listen to old country music and create latch hook art for her family.  Linda was passionately generous and found great joy in giving to her loved ones and numerous charities. Her cat OJ was beloved and her faithful shadow.  Linda was a warrior and battled through many health issues and tragic loss of family.  In her daughter’s eyes, she was the strongest woman we knew. Linda is survived by three daughters, Sonia (Matt) Kiger, Grace Alberts, Jennifer (Steve) Crawford; a daughter-in law, Reka Alberts; a sister, Inez Rohrich; a brother, Clayton King; and six grandchildren, Ethan and Sam Kiger, Jared, Zachary and Joshua Crawford, and Elizabeth Alberts. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Will and infant daughter Teresa.
