Lillian Cap, age 89, of Tabor, South Dakota, died on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Avera Majestic Bluffs Hospice House in Yankton, South Dakota. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor with Reverend Anthony Urban officiating. Burial will be the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Tabor. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Monday, October 28, 2019 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor with a vigil service at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton. Pallbearers are Anthony Jensen, Amanda “Tootsie” Rehurek, Joey Paul Cap, Kayla Reyes, Michael John Propeck and Katie Cap-Kneebone. Honorary pallbearers are all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Lillian was born July 4, 1930 in Tabor, South Dakota to Joseph and Johanna (Herman) Grail. She grew up in Tabor, attending Grail School northwest of Tabor. Lillian married Anton Cap on July 6, 1948. After their marriage, they farmed south of Tabor. Lillian was involved in all aspects of farming and raised ducks, geese and chickens. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking, especially rohliky, and kolaches. No one left her house hungry. Lillian loved playing any card game, but pinochle and euchre were her favorites along with playing UNO with the grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and loved when they would stay during the summer. Lillian spent over 70 years on the farm and was a longtime member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She loved the company of her dog, Copper. She lived at Avera Majestic Bluffs in Yankton for the last few years and won many games of bingo during her time there. Lillian is survived by six children: Betty (Mike) Propeck of Jamestown, ND, Irene Ryken of Yankton, Bill (Donna) Cap of Tabor, Joe (Diane) Cap of Tabor, Alice Rehurek (Dave Staton) of Yankton and Judy Jensen (Bryan Livingston) of Yankton; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anton Cap on November 30, 1997; one granddaughter, Linda; four brothers: Joe, John, Emil and Ed Grail; and seven sisters: Mamie Grail, Helen (Joe) Cap, Anna (Frank) Cap, Stella (Ted) Kalda, Agnes (Walter) Fitch, Jenny (George) Merkwan and Rose (Joe) Kocer.
