LeRoy Anton Janssen

LeRoy Anton Janssen, age 81 of Bellevue, Nebraska and most recently of Norfolk, died on Wednesday, September 02, 2020 at the Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk, Nebraska. Graveside services will be on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s cemetery in Hartington with Deacon Mel Schaecher officiating.  Military rites will be by the Hartington VFW Post #5283. There will not be any public viewing.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Pallbearers will be  Lisa Janssen, Greg Rosenboom, Stacey Janssen, Katie Janssen, and Megan Janssen. LeRoy Anton was born on April 21, 1939 to Anton and Mabel (Scheper) Janssen in Hartford, South Dakota.  He grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from Hartford High School in 1957 and from the University of South Dakota in 1961.  LeRoy was in the Air Force and served in Vietnam. He married Ann Jean Burbach on December 27, 1969 in Bellevue, Nebraska.  He and Ann did live in Bellevue, Nebraska where he worked for the U.S. Postal service before becoming disabled. LeRoy is survived by his son Douglas (Stacey) Janssen of Jackson, NE; daughter Lisa Janssen and significant other Greg Rosenboom of Lincoln, NE; two grandchildren Megan Janssen and her significant other Ben Johnson, and Katie Janssen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ann Jean on January 29, 2018 at the age of 80 years.
