Leone C. Sizemore, age 73, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Avera Sr. James Care Center in Yankton.
A memorial service will be 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the Riverview Reformed Church in Yankton, South Dakota, with Reverend Kwen Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Geddes, South Dakota at a later date. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
Leone C. Sizemore was born August 3, 1945, to John and Eldora (Branch) Osienger in Geddes, South Dakota. She grew up in the Geddes, Fairfax and Bonesteel areas and attended school in St. Charles, South Dakota. She married Ralph Sizemore and moved to Kentucky for a while until moving to Mitchell, South Dakota and finally settling in Yankton, South Dakota. She met her longtime companion, Jim Christensen while living in Yankton and they spent over 30 years together. Leone loved to play games including Skip Bo, dominos, pinochle, and also loved horseback riding.
Survivors include her five siblings: John Osienger of Mitchell, Nebraska; Tom Osienger of Beatrice, Nebraska; James (Elsie) Osienger of Tyndall, South Dakota; Tim (Deanna) Osienger of Dunning, Nebraska; and Barbara “Bobbi” Miller of Pierre, South Dakota; longtime companion, Jim Christensen of Yankton, South Dakota and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; and two sisters: Patricia Dupuy and Mary Jiricek.
