Larry Dean Vogt, age 51, of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services are 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton with Reverend David Wildermuth officiating. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, September 24 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Pallbearers are Pete Steffen, Dallas Keller, Todd Weisser, Troy Austin, Jeff Hunhoff, Charles Schlomer, Wade London and Travis Hohrman. Larry Dean Vogt was born June 25, 1968 in Armour, South Dakota to Roy and Shirley (Youngstrom) Vogt. He grew up on a farm just south of Armour, SD. Larry graduated from Lake Andes High School in 1986 and then began working on the family farm. On May 30, 1992, he married Mindy Bordewyk. After their marriage, they lived in Mitchell, SD and raised three boys: Austin, Riley and Chase. In 2007, the family moved to Yankton and Larry started as the manager of the new A-OX Welding Supply Company. Later, he began his own finishing contractor business, which he was doing to his final day. Larry loved woodworking, playing pool, camping, fishing and hunting, especially with his boys. He loved watching NASCAR and following his relatives, Gale and Brad Vogt and Wade Wright with their dirt track racing. Larry was a loving and supportive father who enjoyed following his children’s sporting activities. Most of all, he loved his family and treasured the time spent with them. Larry is survived by his wife, Mindy Vogt of Yankton; three sons: Austin of Madison, SD, Riley and special friend, Casey Zweber of Yankton, and Chase of Vermillion, SD; parents, Roy and Shirley Vogt of Armour; three brothers: Terry (Bev) Vogt of Armour, Roger Vogt of Wentworth, SD and Todd Vogt and special friend, Kim Nolz of Armour; one sister, Julie (Rod) Wright of Armour; sister-in-law, Amy (Wade) Hoefert of De Smet, SD; two brothers-in-law, Shane (Trish) Bordewyk of St. Leo, MN and Monte Bordewyk of Mitchell, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lyle and Agnes Youngstrom and Martin and Vergie Vogt; and two sisters-in-law, Sandy Vogt and Peggy Vogt.
