Larry was born January 29, 1950 in Yankton, South Dakota to James and Genevieve (Haley) Walsh. Larry grew up on a farm near Mission Hill, South Dakota and then the family moved to Yankton where Larry attended school and graduated from Yankton High School. In the early 1970’s, Larry moved to Chicago, Illinois and worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for several years. He then worked for Weldstar, Inc. for 35 years until his retirement. He truly loved his job and relationships he made throughout the years. Larry enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed gardening and grew a wide variety of different vegetables. For the last six months as his health was declining, Larry was very fortunate to have his niece, Karen Sparks, take such good care of him.
Larry is survived by two sisters, Phyllis (Bob) Ollerich of Dell Rapids, SD and Janet Waggoner of Yankton; and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Merle and Ralph Walsh and one sister, Carol Kay Eaton.
