LaLonnie Jo Hoebelheinrich, age 71, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton with Reverend Larry Regynski officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, April 30 at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a rosary at 6:45 PM followed by a vigil service at 7:00 PM. Visitation continues one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Hunhoff, Robert DeJong, Dale Hoebelheinrich, Paul Fuhrer, Gerald Harts, and Mark Hunhoff.
LaLonnie (Lonnie) was born on March 18, 1948 to Leonard and Mildred (Pesicka) Hunhoff at Sacred Heart hospital in Yankton, SD. She grew up in the Yankton community and graduated from Yankton High School in 1967. She worked at various jobs in Yankton, SD, including Hogans Shoe Store where she met her future husband and Shur-co where her most memories and friends were made. She married Kenneth Hoebelheinrich on June 24, 1972. They were blessed with 2 children, Holly (Mitch) Mudlin and Thomas (Leyna Needham) Hoebelheinrich.
Lonnie enjoyed visiting Holly and Mitch in Rapid City her favorite memory was climbing to the top of Mount Rushmore. Her favorite memory with Tom while interning as a chef in Colorado Springs was traveling to Pikes Peak on the Cog Railroad. She loved Baking, crocheting and making afghans and baby blankets for close family and friends, which she learned from her father Leonard Hunhoff. She also loved cross stitching and socializing with her friends from Shur-co. She also loved taking care of her plants all year round, and spring flowers were her favorite. She loved spending time with Lillien and Desmond her grandkids, which she believed were the best grandkids in the world. She loved taking her grandkids shopping, to the park, for ice cream, swimming, and anything she could do with them or anything they wanted to do. Lonnie and Ken’s favorite memories in the Red 1975 Chevy Pickup were spending over a week in the Black Hills last May traveling to various places throughout the hills.
Lonnie’s memory is cherished by her husband Kenneth, her daughter Holly (Mitch) Mudlin of Rapid City, Thomas (Leyna) Hoebelheinrich of Yankton, Grandchildren Lillien and Desmond of Yankton, and Brother Thomas (Lois) Hunhoff of Yankton, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lonnie was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Mildred Hunhoff and several aunts and uncles.
