Kim Kyle Cotton was born January 14, 1951, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Ted and Hazel “Sweed” (Nelson) Cotton. Kim was always involved in the family business of Cotton Oil, spending many days at the station as a little boy. As he got older, he became more involved with the business, delivering fuel and bulk oil to area farmers. He met and married Kay Sylliaasen on June 19, 1970 in Mission Hill, South Dakota. To their joy, their son, Cory Kyle Cotton was born, making their family complete. Kim and Kay eventually took over Cotton Oil and both worked there for many years, alongside their son. Kim was always ready for a visit as he pumped your gas and cleaned your windows and always with a smile. He will be missed by all of his loyal customers and many friends. Survivors include his son, Cory Cotton of Yankton. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Kay Cotton on February 6, 2016. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen, 101 N. Main Ave. Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57104.
