Jim Ahlgrim, age 52, of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Friday, December 1, 2023.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Jim's final wishes were to be cremated and placed to rest alongside his mother.

James “Jim” Howard Ahlgrim was brought into this world by his father, Walter Fred Ahlgrim and mother, Linda Jean Hysell on December 21, 1970.  He spent most of his childhood in the Yankton area and discovered a love for the outdoors at a young age. He enjoyed exploring, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with loved ones. Many of his fondest childhood memories were those shared with his cousins. As an adult, Jim enjoyed traveling and sightseeing. He visited many places in his lifetime but he enjoyed visiting monuments, museums, and parks in particular. Jim especially enjoyed memorial parks and one of his favorites was Veteran's Memorial Park in Springfield, SD.  Jim held a special place in his heart for those who served, and continue to serve, our country. He was a proud American.

Jim worked at L & M Radiator in Yankton and was employed there for over six years. Although he enjoyed his job, what he really enjoyed were the people that he worked with.  Jim considered his coworkers to be an extension of his family.

Jim is survived by his children: Danielle Ahlgrim of O'Neill, NE, Heather (Sean) Ingerson of Omaha, NE, Jon Bosworth of Brookings, SD; and granddaughter, Madelyn Ingerson of Omaha, NE.  Jim is also survived by his former spouse, Nicole Jager of Rock Hill, SC and her children: Jamie Jager of Rock Hill, Jacob Jager of Rock Hill, Logan Jager of Box Elder, SD; and granddaughter, Aubrey Jager of Rock Hill; as well as many other loved ones and friends.
