Jeff Donner

Jeffrey Lee Donner, age 60 of Crofton, Nebraska died on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at his residence.

 A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton with Cheri Leader officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton.

 Jeffrey Lee was born on November 11, 1964 in Osmond, Nebraska to Philip Valentine and LeAnn Mary (Mines) Donner. He grew up in Crofton and graduated from Crofton High School in 1983. Jeff graduated from Midland College in Fremont, NE with a degree in accounting and a minor in journalism. After college, Jeff worked for the Yankton Press & Dakotan and for the Crofton Journal. In 1989 he went to Los Angeles, CA and worked for Xerox, later transferring to Pittsburgh and Minneapolis for Xerox. Jeff moved back to Hartington and worked for the Hartington Nursing Center for several years before moving back to Crofton. Jeff worked in Crofton for Wiebelhaus Recreation, where he was known for his one-liners.

 Jeff endured dialysis for six years until he had a kidney transplant in 2018. He had serious health complications following his transplant and this forced him to stop working.

 Jeff collected Coke & Coca-Cola items that decorated his apartment. He loved to cook and create new recipes.

 Jeff is survived by his three God-Daughters Kelli Stallbaum of Crofton, Amanda Cayler Carther of Danbury, CT, and Ashley Dawn Hegge Baum of Pleasant Dale, NE; special relatives Karla and Larry Stallbaum of Crofton, Ryan Stallbaum of Elyria, OH, Helen Rehm of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Rose Donner James of Utica, SD, Darnell Bauman of Crofton, John and Lorrie Donner of Crofton many other Donner, Hames, and Mines cousins; uncle and aunt Dennis and Janet Mines of Yankton. Special friends Leon and Pat Wakeley, Randy and Cheri Leader, Jim and Dawn Hegge, Arlan and Angie Hoebelheinrich, and Brian & Debbie Wiebelhaus.

 He was preceded in death by his parents Philip and LeAnn Donner; brother Greg; grandparents Dewey and Alma (Haberer) Mines, Ben and Anna (Foecke) Donner.
