Jean Kenyon Lovelace, passed away on April 11, 2018 in Sartell, Minnesota at the age of 90.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Yankton Cemetery in Yankton, South Dakota. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
She was born on May 1, 1927 in Weedsport, New York to Esther Weller Kenyon and Herbert Abraham Kenyon. She had a brother Carleton Kenyon. Jean was also the great, great niece of Nelson and Alice Cramer who were early citizens of Yankton.
Her parents moved the family in the early 1930’s from New York State to the home they inherited at 509 Pine Street in Yankton and since 1976 this home has been the Cramer-Kenyon Heritage Home. Jean was the last family member to have lived in the home.
She attended college at Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Home Economics/ Fashion & Textiles. She was a teacher for over 35 years. She married William Evans Lovelace on June 8, 1952 at the former Congregational Church in Yankton.
She is survived by her son, Kent (Karen) Lovelace of Grand Forks, North Dakota; a daughter, Merilee (Jim) Lovelace-Kleiber of Sandpoint, Idaho; her grandchildren, William Lovelace (Brittney Christy) of Grand Forks, Sarah Lovelace of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Katelin Kleiber (Loyale Peterson) of Sandpoint, Idaho.
