Irene Rose Bogner

Irene Rose Bogner, age 81 of South Sioux City, Nebraska and formerly of Crofton, Nebraska went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 07, 2019 at the Matney’s Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton with the Rev. Timothy Podraza officiating. Burial will be at the St. Rose Cemetery in Crofton. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8:00 a.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. Visitation will continue on Friday, at church, one hour prior to services. Go to www.wintzfuneralhome.com. Irene was born January 25, 1937 to Joseph & Hilda (Michaelis) Kuehler. She attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School through the 8th grade and graduated from Crofton High School with the class of 1955. She married Robert (Bob) Bogner on February 7, 1959 in Crofton, NE. To this union they were blessed with 5 children. During Irene's life she worked as a secretary at Crofton Creamery, Crofton Insurance Agency, & many years at Crofton State Bank. In her spare time she would do the book work for Bogner's Steakhouse. She moved to Freeman, SD with her family where she was a homemaker from 1973-1975. In 1975, Irene moved her family back to Crofton where she again worked at Crofton State Bank and then became employed at Dale Electronics in Yankton, SD. Irene was an amazing mother and grandmother. Family meant the world to her and she always looked forward to visits from her children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. They were always able to put a smile on her face. In 2006, she moved to Hidden Hills Nursing Home in Omaha, NE, due to an illness. Omaha, NE provided her with the specialized doctors that she needed. In 2013, she moved to Matney's Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, NE and was a resident there until her passing. Irene will be remembered for her love of root beer, country music, playing rummy and checkers and she will be remembered as a devout Catholic. If she could've gone to church every day, she would have. Irene is survived by 3 sons, Daniel of Phoenix, AZ; Gary of Big Spring, TX; Michael of Westbrook, ME; two daughters, Laurie Kubly of Sloan, IA; and Peggy Bartunek of Yankton, SD; grandchildren, Dawn (Quincy) Joslin, Christine (Edward) Rodgers, Heather (Travis) Puck, Sean Bartunek, Tiffany Bogner, Jennifer Barkl, Michael Bogner, & Gary Bogner; great-grandchildren, Lance Joslin, Jayce Joslin, Noah Rodgers, Anthony Rodgers, Olivia Puck, Elliot Puck, Brittany Coleman, Faith Coleman, Bailey Barkl, Mike Bogner, Jr., Harmony Bogner, Taylor Bogner, Tyler Bogner, Ashley Koger. Irene will be remembered fondly and missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Arthur Bartunek; infant great-grandson Cody Coleman; sister Margaret Huennekens; and brother Donald Keuhler.
