Glenna J. Lentz age 76 of Coleridge, Nebraska died on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael’s cemetery at a later date. Visitation with her body present will be on Monday, at church, from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.
Graveside services will be on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Cemetery in Coleridge with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating.Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bell, Allison Bell, Kyle Lentz, Davey Black, Trent VonDerOhe, Bo Bauer, and Dave Black.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Lentz, Jeff Lentz, Bob VonDerOhe, Warren Stark, and Rodger Derickson.
Glenna Joy was born on September 5, 1947 in Wakefield, Michigan to David James and Ida Frances (DeMolin) Paro. She grew up in Bergland, Michigan and graduated from Bergland High School. Glenna furthered her education in Kearney, Nebraska by becoming and Radiology Technician and a nursing assistant. In 1969 Glenna married Rudy Hoffman and a daughter, Katrina was born to this union. She then married the love of her life, James Frederick Lentz on August 17, 1974 in Kearney, Nebraska. She and James moved to Grand Island in 1979 and lived there until moving to Coleridge in 2012.
Glenna had various jobs prior to Delicious Foods/McCains where she worked for 15 years. Glenna injured her back and then took a job at the call center for Cabela’s which she loved for close to 25 years. She met many lasting friends from Cabela’s. Glenna liked to crochet and sew her girl’s clothes. She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading, and watching Days of Our Lives (without interruptions, ha). Glenna loved watching and cheering on the Nebraska Husker football team. Glenna took many trips to Michigan and loved being on the family farm near Hartington. When Glenna’s daughter’s friends came over, Glenna was like a second mother to them. Many wonderful memories were created by Glenna that will last a lifetime.
Glenna is survived by her three daughters, Trina Martinez and Nate Banta of Belmond, Iowa, Dawn (Ryan) Didio of Belmond, Iowa, Andrea Lentz of Grand Island; four grandchildren Ken Bell, Allison Bell, Lexi Didio, and Gavin Didio; great granddaughter Jamie Bell; many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law Kay Paro of Bergland, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents David and Ida Paro; husband James “Jim” Lentz on November 14, 2018 at the age of 71 years; four siblings Bill Paro, Peggy Black, David Paro, and Chuck Paro.
