Gerald “Jerry” Schiedel, age 83, of Longwood, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018.
Graveside services for both Jerry and his wife, Arlys Schiedel, will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Gayville Cemetery in Gayville, South Dakota with Reverend Kristen Eisele officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
Jerry was born on October 1, 1935 to Harry and Marion (Lamers) Schiedel in Yankton, South Dakota. He graduated from Yankton High School and then received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering at South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. He was married to the love of his life, Arlys Magorien of March 8, 1958. Jerry held a career in Electrical Engineering and Business for NASA and Martin Marietta. He also founded Dads N Lads, Crosstown Express and Good Vibration Surf Shops. Jerry was a member of Northland Church, Annunciation Church and had a passion for cars, boats and planes.
Jerry is survived by his son, Barry (Beth) Schiedel of Longwood, FL; daughter, Roxane (Rick) Mann of Longwood, FL; grandson, Ryan Schiedel of Cocoa, FL; grandson, Kyle Schiedel of Cape Canaveral, FL; granddaughter, Brandie Schiedel of Orlando, FL; grandson, Cory Schiedel of Orlando, FL; grandson, Branson Mann of Longwood, FL.
Jerry was preceded in death his parents; and wife, Arlys Schiedel on March 12, 2018.
