Gerald “Jerry” Faulk, age 86, of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at his home.

Funeral services are 10:30 AM, on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Katie Ricke officiating.  Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton.  Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, May 15 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.  Visitation also continues one hour prior to the funeral.

Pallbearers are Michael Faulk, Dustin Faulk, Jaiden Faulk, Jayson Knight, Tanner Knight, Luke Ringler, Justin Ringler, and Ethan Ringler.  Honorary pallbearers are all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jerry was born January 31, 1938 in Yankton, South Dakota to Arnold and Clorice (Goff) Faulk.  He grew up on a farm near Mission Hill, South Dakota and graduated from Gayville High School in 1956.  After school, Jerry worked with his father at Faulk Service Station in Yankton.  In 1961, Jerry began working for Kaneb Pipeline.  He started as an engineer and retired as a supervisor after 44 years of working for the same company.  On September 15, 1978, Jerry married Barbara Ann Riley.  They enjoyed nearly 45 years of marriage until Barb passed away on April 14, 2023. 

Jerry loved gardening and had a huge garden spanning around five acres.  He also loved fishing, especially for paddlefish.  Jerry was very generous with his time and treasured the time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by six children: Scott (Kelly) Faulk of Rapid City, SD, Greg (CaraBeth) Faulk of Anchorage, AK, Tim Faulk of Mission Hill, SD, Randy Faulk of Yankton, Rick Faulk of Wynot, NE and Teresa (Greg) Ringler of Pillager, MN; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; three step children: Sherryl (Rod) Mika of Montana, Sue Peterson of Minnesota, and Scott Thompson of Colorado; seven step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; and a very special neighbor, Michelle Tweedy.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Faulk; sister, Jan Wiedmeier; and step son, Shane Thompson.
