Fredrick A. Arens, age 80 of Crofton, Nebraska died on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Hartington Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hartington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Constance, Nebraska with the Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial will be at the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Constance. Visitation will be on Wednesday one hour prior to services at church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton, Nebraska.
Pallbearers will be Dale Van Heek, John Van Heek, Gary Schumacher, Jeff Steffen, Ron Tramp, and Gerald Arens.
Fredrick Alphonse Arens was born on November 18, 1938 in Crofton to Fred Peter and Anna Margaret (Jansen) Arens. He grew up on a farm near Crofton and graduated from Crofton High School. Fred lived his entire life with his brother Melvin. He farmed with Melvin and did a lot of work on farm machinery. Fred and Melvin started a woodworking and cabinet company called M & F Woodworking in 1995. Fred and his brother reconstructed the three altars in the Constance church. This extensive project took over 20 months to complete.
Fredrick is survived by his sister JoAnn and husband Fred Janssen of Arvada, CO; nieces Linda (Greg) Dean of Arvada, CO, Caroline and Kathy of California; and nephew Fredrick J. Arens of Los Angeles, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Anna Arens; two brothers Alfred and Melvin Arens.
