Frances E. Santercier, age 99, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
No local services will be held. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton, South Dakota. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton.
Frances E. Santercier was born September 1, 1918 in Turner County, SD, to Marinus and Elsie Johnson. She grew up in the Viborg and Irene communities. She married Harry Hicks in 1936 and they had 2 sons, Jerry and Vernon. They moved to Chicago where she worked for the telephone company. In 1963, Fran married Rocky Santercier. Rocky died in 1973 after which Fran retired and moved to Yankton, SD where she lived for several years. From there she moved to Sioux Falls to Sunnycrest Retirement Center for 12 years, then Primrose Assisted Living, Good Sam Prairie Creek and most recently Good Sam Village.
She is survived by 2 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rocky, sons Jerry and Vernon, one grandson Dale, 2 daughters-in-law, Aneta and Pat and 8 siblings.
