Eunice Joyce Oswald

Eunice Joyce Oswald, 81 of Allen Nebraska died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Concord, Nebraska with the Pastor Todd Thelen officiating. Burial will be at the Eastview cemetery in Allen, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Friday, at church, from 5-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home of Laurel, NE. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Kyle Oswald, Chad Oswald, Eric Oswald, Christopher Schoning, Zachary Schoning, Jared Schoning, B.J. Schoning, Joseph Schoning, Daniel Oswald, Jacob Oswald, Colton Oswald, Lukas Oswald, and Nathan Oswald. Honorary pallbearers will be Eunice’s granddaughters, Ellie Diehm, Charis High, Charity Anderson, Faith Nichols, Amber Mattson, and Lexi Oswald. Eunice Joyce was born on August 22, 1937 on a farm south of Milford, Nebraska to Chris and Mary Roth. She was the 5th of six children born to Chris & Mary. As a young girl Eunice attended Milford Public Schools. She worked for Paul and Nonie Rolssmeier as a nanny near Milford. On September 16, 1956 she married Marvin Oswald at the East Fairview Mennonite Church in Milford, NE. She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Concord, Nebraska where she enjoyed serving. The family lived several places before moving to Allen, NE in 1977. Eunice first and foremost was a loving & giving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Eunice began part-time employment in 1979 at Waldbaum’s (Michael Foods) in Wakefield and then was a full time employee from 1984 until she retired in 2002. Because of Eunice’s love for children she found part-time work with the Allen Daycare from 2002 until 2012. Eunice is survived by her husband Marvin of Allen; six children and their spouses, Dwight (Jane) Oswald of Council Bluffs, IA, Dwaine (Barb) Oswald of Allen, Mary (Jeff) Schoning of Griswold, IA, Martin Oswald of Wakefield, Max (Lana) Oswald of Allen, Curtis (Dawn) Oswald of Allen; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters Grace (Dale) Grieser of Beemer, Vada (Ken) Roth of Dorchester; sister-in-law Anna Mae Roth of Milford, NE; brother-in-law Richard Miller of Milford, NE; sister-in-law Marie Eichelberger of Beemer; brothers-in-law Merle (Betty) Oswald of Beemer, and John Beller of Norfolk. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Earl Roth; sister and brother-in-law Berniece & Clayton Beckler; a sister Shirley Miller; brother and sisters-in-law Elmer & Doris Oswald, Ella & Joe Ehrisman, Mildred & Vernon White, Harold Eichelberger and Delores Bellar.
