Earl William “Bill” Pinkelman, age 70 of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, Nebraska with the Rev. Amanda Talley officiating. Burial will be at the Hartington City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will continue on Saturday, at church, one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Ron Potter Jr., Rod Potter, Tim Potter, Keith Roberts, Parker Steffen, and Shawn Pinkelman.
Earl William Pinkelman was born on August 2, 1949 in Hartington, Nebraska to Earl Louis and Lura (Heil) Pinkelman. He grew up in Hartington and attended Hartington High School and received his GED. Bill drove a milk truck for AMPI for many years and then delivered milk for Gillette Dairy. Bill married Marianne Hansen on April 22, 1972 in Laurel, Nebraska. He worked for Prince Hydraulics in Hartington for 30 years and retired in 2013.
Bill enjoyed taking his family on trips, fishing and dealing on cars. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his two children; Scott (Katie) Pinkelman of Hartington, Sonja (Louis) Steffen of Hartington; significant other Barb Fisher of Yankton, SD; 10 grandchildren; two great granddaughters; daughter-in-law Amy Uhing of Hartington; brother Randy (Vicky) Pinkelman of Hartington; three sisters Lori (Tim) Sjoquist of Eden Prairie, MN, Joyce (Ron) Potter of Valentine, NE, Vicky Roberts and Doug Heitman of Hartington; step-mother Melva Pinkelman of Coleridge, NE; brother-in-law Del Potter of Ewing, NE.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marianne on September 2, 2010 at the age of 55 years; son Mike on April 29, 2017 at age 42; and sister Janet Potter.
