Donna J. Buss

Donna J. Buss, age 92 of Laurel, Nebraska died on Friday, December 27, 2019 in Mill Spring, Missouri. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 10:30 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Laurel, NE with Rev. Jeffery Warner officiating. Burial will be in the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Laurel, NE. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home of Laurel. Pallbearers will be Donna’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna June Buss was born on February 11, 1927 in Norfolk, NE to Ralph and Pauline (Schonebaum) Nichols. She grew up in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk High School. After high school, Donna attended Norfolk Junior College. On January 11, 1948, Donna married Virgil Frank Buss at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoskins, NE. To this marriage, five children were born. Donna and Virgil owned family businesses in Laurel over the years, including Buss Feed Store and Buss Service. Donna enjoyed gardening, golfing, bowling, traveling, knitting, and playing Solitaire. Donna is survived by five children, Norman (Jean) Buss of Lincoln, NE, Barbara Moss of Mill Spring, MO, Beverly (Dennis) Eby of Beatrice, NE, Paula Engel of Rudy, AR, Shelly Carstens of Creighton, NE; sister-in-law, Delores Buss of Laurel, NE; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 3 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Pauline; husband, Virgil, on January 15, 2016; brother, Donald Nichols; sister and brother-in-law, Lorene & Paul Hintz; son-in-law, Jerry Moss; brother-in-law, Robert Buss; nephew, Ronald Hintz; and niece, Patricia Hintz.
