Dianne Irene Kuchta, age 80, of Aten, Nebraska, died Monday, November 13, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society in Bloomfield, Nebraska.
A memorial service will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota, with Reverend Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Yankton, South Dakota. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home.
Dianne Irene Kuchta was born July 22, 1943, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Norman and Irene (Pibal) Lane. She grew up and attended school in Yankton and graduated from Yankton High School in 1961. She married Daniel “Danny” Kuchta on June 29, 1978 and moved to Aten Nebraska. She worked at Gurney Seed & Nursery in Yankton for many years until it closed and then began working for The Glass Cutter in Yankton.
Dianne was a strong willed, generous woman who would do anything for any one. She loved being outdoors and loved animals. She always had birdseed in her yard and that attracted two peacocks that found their way to Dianne’s house, which started her love of peacocks. She also loved taking care of her parakeet and cats.
Survivors include her two children: Lisa (Bob) Albon of Santee, California and Richard Chavis of Yankton, South Dakota; four grandchildren: Alexandra, Robert III, Ryan and Michael; two sisters: Sharon (Vern) Zavadil of Yankton and Donna Swank of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Mike Kuchta of Menomineee, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Sharon Thoene of Yankton; two cats: Bootsie and Punkie and many nieces and nephews.
