David Larns Hansen, age 67, of Vermillion, South Dakota and formerly of Yankton, South Dakota, died Sunday, April 28, 2019, at the Hudson Care & Rehab Center in Hudson, South Dakota.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota with Pastor Barry McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Centerville, South Dakota. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cassandra Meng and Jesse Hansen.
David Larns Hansen was born February 23, 1952 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Arnold and Lois (Thomas) Hansen. He grew up in Yankton, South Dakota and attended Yankton High School. He worked various jobs in Yankton including Gurney’s Seed and Nursery, Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store as well as delivering newspapers. He was very proud of his work and had many loyal customers.
David enjoyed watching Price is Right and MeTV. He loved going to the movies, writing handwritten letters, sharing jokes, telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed collecting art figurines and taking mini vacations.
Survivors include his three brothers: Jerry (Annette) Hansen of Canton, South Dakota; Terry Hansen of Mitchell, South Dakota and Mark (Carla) Hansen of Yankton, South Dakota; niece, Cassandra (Cory) Meng of Yankton, South Dakota and nephew, Jesse Hansen of Yankton, South Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Lois Hansen and his grandparents.
