She was a proud graduate of Irene High School, Class of 1974. Cyndi has operated Holiday Party & Paper for 30 years, and became the new “Lisa” of Lisa’s Fashions in 2005. Cyndi was the matriarch of the Hunhoff Girls, as she and her four daughters came to be known. Cyndi has been an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 40 years and, at the time of her passing, was serving as the Regent for Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Willard #967. She was a devoted Minnesota Twins fan. She was always ready to pick up a deck of cards, pour a hot cup of coffee, and serve you a slice of her famous homemade apple pie. Cyndi was committed to community service - she collected suitcases for the VA, and coordinated donations that would benefit the Bishop Dudley House and Pathways Shelter for the Homeless. She crocheted hundreds of blankets that, to this day, are keeping residents warm at Sister James Nursing Home. She has volunteered with the Downtown Yankton Association, Ribfest, and Riverboat Days. She is survived by four daughters, Melanie (Jon Paul) Lupo of Brooklyn, New York; Julie (Megan) Hunsen of Queen Creek, Arizona; Stacie (Christopher) Hammond of Memphis, Tennessee; Abbie (Nick) Seliski of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 7 grandchildren: Shayla, Torri, Josephine, Anthony, Benjamin, Mae, and Calvin; lifelong friends, the Millage family; and countless other friends, classmates, and customers; and most of all, her beloved cat, Jack. Preceding her in death are her parents, Aunt Rosella and Uncle John, and her special friend, Terry Sherman. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Cyndi’s memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church/ Catholic Daughters or Pathways Shelter for the Homeless.
