Clifford Rudolph Filips age 81 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating. Burial of his cremated remains will be at St. Michael’s cemetery in Hartington with military rites by the Hartington VFW Post #5283. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at church. Face masks and social distancing are required on Thursday at church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Clifford Rudolph Filips was born on September 21, 1939 in Fordyce, Nebraska to Otto M. and Hilda (Lammers) Filips. He attended elementary school in Fordyce and then graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hartington in 1957. He then graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1961. Clifford served in the U.S. Army from 3/20/1962 until 3/19/1964. After Clifford was honorably discharged he began working for Sears and Roebuck from 1964-1992. He then worked for AGI/Honeywell from 1994-2001.
Clifford was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was an avid Nebraska Husker fan, and Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan. He liked photography, landscaping and gardening.
Clifford is survived by his two sisters Adele Promes of Westminister, CO, Rosann (Rodney) Kinkaid of Terrell, TX; brother Richard (Aletha) Filips of Tecumseh, MI; sister-in-law Natasha Filips of Surprise, AZ.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Charleen (Charles) Neely, Yvonne Garcia, Janet Beck; brothers Gerard Filips and Vernon Filips.
