Clifford E. Novak

Clifford E. Novak, age 67, of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Avera Sunset Manor in Irene, South Dakota. Funeral services are 1:00 PM, on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Bierwagen officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is one hour prior to the funeral at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home. Pallbearers are David Novak, Dan Havermann, Brandon Novak, David Havermann, Kevin Johnson and Joe Havermann. Clifford was born July 26, 1952 in Yankton, South Dakota to Clifford and Dorothy (Anderson) Novak. He attended Yankton Public Schools and then worked with his dad as a plumber for many years. Cliff married Barb Wick and had one daughter, Lisa Jo Novak. Cliff and Barb were later divorced. Due to his illness, Cliff had to retire early. He spent several years in care centers in Bridgewater, Yankton and Irene. He enjoyed the Bible services at the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater and asked the Lord for the forgiveness of his sins and to come into his heart so he could be in Heaven someday. He was saved and hopes everyone will do the same. Cliff enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He loved his leather jacket and the caps he won playing bingo. Cliff also enjoyed playing cards with his friends. His favorite foods were fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fish and cheeseburgers. He also loved his snacks and a pop. Cliff always looked forward to his sister, Dot coming and taking him to the farm and spending this day with his family and sister, Karen. Cliff is survived by his daughter, Lisa Novak; one sister, Dorothy (Larry) Adrian of Yankton; brother-in-law, Leon Havermann; sister-in-law, Sheila Novak; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: Viggo and Edith Anderson and Emil and Phyllis Novak; sister, Karen Havermann; brother, Alvin “Pete” Novak and an infant brother, Dwayne Novak.
