Claudette Marie (Uhing) Wieseler, daughter of William A and Bernadine F (Frigge) Uhing, was born on August 14, 1938 in Hartington, NE and died on Monday February 10, 2025 in Omaha, NE at the age of 86.
Claudette grew up in Hartington, NE and was a member of Sts Philip and James Catholic Parish in St. James, NE where she also attended grade school until 8th grade and was later married. She graduated from Wynot High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart Gerald B. Wieseler on August 12, 1958.
Later in life, Claudette achieved one her greatest personal achievements and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska, Omaha as well as a Masters Degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma.
Claudette was always very active in church and for many years participated in her parishes of Holy Family in St. Helena NE and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellevue, NE. She was a member of the altar society, held a routine adoration hour, was a lector and an Eucharistic Minister. She was a deeply spiritual woman and attended mass and said the rosary every day. She loved playing cards and was a great lover of music and did round and square dancing for many years. She always loved the outdoors and fresh air and was an avid gardener even in her later years.
However, her greatest joy and accomplishment was her large and extended family. She is survived by 11 children, 36 grandchildren , 24 great grandchildren and 3 sisters. Her children include: Bill (Annette) Wieseler of Elkhorn, NE; John (Darla) Wieseler of Elkhorn, NE; Jerry (Debbie) Wieseler of Murray, NE; Michael (Janet) Wieseler of Tyndall, SD; Jeffrey (Kris) Wieseler of Waterloo, NE; Brian (Theresa) Wieseler of Clover, SC; Bruce (Sarah) Wieseler of Lincoln, NE; Patrick (Tania) Wieseler of Waseca, MN; Madonna (Ken) Klein of Omaha, NE; Chad (Holly) Wieseler of Stonington, CT; Shana (Jeremiah) Pompa of Orcutt, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, infant daughter Angela Marie, and siblings Stella Goeken, Jeanette Whitney, Kenneth Uhing, Elaine Ingberg, William Uhing, and Robert Uhing.
Memorials will be directed by the family.
Visitation: Sunday, February 16, 2025, 2:00-4:00 p.m. with a Rosary service at 4:00 p.m., Bellevue Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Mass: Monday, February 17, 2025, 11:00 a.m., St. Mary’s Church, 2302 Crawford Street, Bellevue, Nebraska.
Inurnment: Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, St. Helena, Nebraska
