Claudette Stappert, age 91 of Bow Valley, Nebraska died on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Sts. Peter & Paul) Catholic Church in Bow Valley, Nebraska with the Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Burial will be at Sts. Peter & Paul cemetery in Bow Valley. Visitation will be on Friday, at church, from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons – Justin Zahn, Andy Stappert, Preston Stappert, Kris Stappert, Jacob Stappert, Kyle Stappert, Dillon Stappert, Connor Stappert, and Christian Stappert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Claudette’s granddaughters – Jessica Gibson, Lindy Bancke, Danielle Stappert, Kristina Lobb, Kristin Larsen, Kelsey Stappert, Rachelle McColley and Ashton Stappert.
Claudette Delores was born on October 1, 1932 to Claude and Theresa (Wieseler) Becker in Yankton, SD. She grew up in St. Helena, Nebraska and graduated from Mount Marty High School in Yankton, SD. Claudette then graduated from Mount Marty College in Yankton. She married Charles Evan Stappert on May 4, 1954 in St. Helena, Nebraska. Charles died on April 9, 2010 at the age of 79 years. Claudette worked for Bob Weinke Insurance in Yankton, SD and then for the Corps of Engineers at Gavin’s Point Dam for over 20 years in the accounting department. After Charles died on April 9, 2010 at the age of 79 years, she moved off the farm to Coleridge in 2012. In 2019 Claudette moved to an Assisted Living facility in Omaha.
Claudette was a member of Holy Family (Sts. Peter & Paul) Catholic Church and its Woman’s group. She was an officer for the Wynot American Legion Auxiliary and very active in their group. Claudette will be remembered by her family and others for her great chocolate chip cookies, chocolate cake, and her love of ice cream of all flavors.
Claudette is survived by her children, Roxanne and Scott Stanard of Prosper, TX; John and Janie Stappert of Norfolk, NE; Michael and Linda Stappert of Gardner, KS; Carol Spetman of Scottsdale, AZ; Ron and Claudia Stappert of Palm Harbor, FL; Joseph & Lori Stappert of Omaha, NE and daughter-in-law Robyn Stappert of Conroe, TX, 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Loretta Albrecht of Yankton, SD; Marilyn & Loren Lund of Bassett, NE; and Jeri Backman of Wynot, NE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stappert, son Karl Stappert, her parents and sisters, Luann Klein, Jean Hans and Joan Becker.
