Christopher Dennis Ed Johnson, age 32 of Crofton, Nebraska, died on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton South Dakota from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident.
Funeral Services will be on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton with Rev. Amanda Talley officiating. Burial will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday with a time of sharing at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Saturday.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dallas Suhr, Hunter Guenther, Haligh Guenther, April Guenther, Maxwell Guenther, Wyatt Guenther, Bentley Allen, Taylor Reineke, Stas Sutera, Spencer Brown and Alex Brown.
Active Pallbearers will be Cody Huber, Dakota LaPointe, Casper Guenther, Chase Reineke, Nick Morgan and Aaron Morgan.
Chris was born on March 15, 1987 in Yankton, SD to Dennis Lester and Vicky Joy (Alexander) Johnson. He grew up on a farm near Bloomfield and attended school in Bloomfield. The family moved to Crofton in January 1996 and Chris graduated from Crofton High School in 2005. He moved back and forth between Yankton and Crofton and worked for Rent A Center, Stockman’s Livestock, Truxedo, Baldwin Filters and most recently for SAPA (formerly Alumax).
Chris was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crofton. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with his pickup, traveling with his family and time spent with his dogs Gemma and Bailey. Chris was a tissue donor.
Chris is survived by his parents, Dennis and Vicky Johnson of Crofton, 2 sisters, Jennifer and Charles Allen of Rathdrum, Idaho; Megann Sutera and Gary Guenther of Crofton; 10 nieces and nephews, Chase and Taylor Reineke, Bentley Allen, Stas Sutera, Casper, Haligh, April, Hunter, Maxwell and Wyatt Guenther.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer Johnson and Irene Derby, Dale and Margie Alexander and an uncle, Curt Alexander.
