Christian “Chris” Hudson was born January 23, 1948, in Independence, Kansas, to Elwood and Dorothy (Christensen) Hudson. He moved to the Yankton area when he was very young with his mother and brother and attended Gunderson Country School. He graduated from Yankton High School in 1966 and started working at Joe Rye Bicycle Shop in Yankton. He then worked at Mtron in Yankton where he met the love of his life, Bonnie Feilmeier. They were married on July 31, 1971 in Hartington, Nebraska. Chris then took a job in the shipping department at Dale Electronics which he continued for 28 years, until his health forced him to retire.
Chris was a hardworking, strong-willed man who never knew a stranger. He enjoyed walking around the neighborhood, visiting with everyone he met. If he wasn’t walking the neighborhood he could be found washing and polishing his truck. He also enjoyed coon hunting and loved camping. Faith and family were the most important things in Chris’s life.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Hudson of Yankton; daughter, Jennifer (Steve) Novak of Yankton; two sisters: Charlene Schmadeke of Crofton, Nebraska and Cynthia (Mike) Graham of Alexandria, South Dakota; three brothers: Leray Anderson of Litchfield, Minnesota; Dean (Cheryl) Anderson of Yankton and Vertus (Carol) Anderson of Yankton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elwood Hudson; mother, Dorothy Anderson; step-father, Ray Anderson; brother, Mike Hudson; sister-in-law, Julie Hudson and brother-in-law, Dave Schmadeke.
