Carol Styles was born June 7, 1947, in Trenton, Nebraska, to Glenn and Marjorie (Cemer) Makings. She grew up in Grant, Nebraska and graduated from Perkins County High School in 1965. She worked in Ogallala, Nebraska for a short time and married Dale Styles in July of 1968. They moved to North Platte, Nebraska after their marriage and Carol began working in housekeeping for Motel 6 and later at the nursing home in North Platte. After her retirement, she moved to Yankton, South Dakota and was very active in her apartment complex on Memory Lane, visiting and organizing card games.
Carol was a very giving, helpful, positive woman who was always thinking about others and how she could help. She enjoyed being with people, playing cards, listening to music, crocheting, making afghans and baby blankets, which most of the time she gave away. She had a wonderful sense of humor and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her son, Tim (Sandy) Styles of North Platte, Nebraska; grandson, Terry Styles, two step-grandchildren; brother, Terry (Mary) Makings of Yankton and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Greg Styles.
