Carol Ann Williams, age 71, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Avera Sr. James Care Center in Yankton.
Funeral services will be 4:00 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Ninke officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the funeral home.
Carol Ann Williams was born March 28, 1947 in Yankton, South Dakota to Roy and Wanda (Van Epps) Horlyk. She grew up and attended school in both Yankton and California. She married Floyd Williams and together had five children. Carol lived in Yankton her whole adult life and worked for a while at MTron, Stuelpnagle’s, Casey’s until she became a nurse’s aide at the St. Joseph Care Center at the Sacred Heart Monastery. She worked at the care center for over 30 years until her retirement.
Carol was a hardworking, loving mother who loved to laugh. She also enjoyed reading, playing games with her family, sewing, crafting and her cats. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her five children: Laurie (Rod) Wiedmeier of Mission Hill, South Dakota; Lonnie Williams of Tyndall, South Dakota; Tammy McCloud of Yankton; Dawn Williams of Yankton; and Shon Williams of Yankton; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Deb (Bill) Schaefer of Yankton one brother, Jeff Watson of Yankton and sister-in-law, Phyllis Horlyk of Gayville, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Freddie and Dale Horlyk.
