Caleb List was born December 13, 1999, in Yankton, South Dakota, to Ryan and Michelle (Harts) List. He grew up in Yankton and attended Gayville-Volin High School where he loved playing football. Caleb also enjoyed being a goal tender for the Yankton Bucks Hockey team. He was very involved with 4-H where he loved to show his show steers. After high school, Caleb worked various jobs and enjoyed driving truck and hauling grain for List Farms. He also enjoyed spending time and working with both of his grandpas on the family farms.
Caleb loved being with friends and especially loved being with his dog, Bear, his best friend. He was a loyal friend and would drop anything, day or night, to help a friend in need. He had a way of bringing people together and would stop to talk to anyone. He was very creative and outgoing, always coming up with a new idea. He loved sports, loud music and loud trucks. He especially loved watching westerns and eating cookies with his grandpa. He was a free spirit and always had to do things his way. He is gone too soon and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his parents, Ryan and Michelle List of Yankton; brother, Cody List of Utica, South Dakota; sister, Paige List (Gaige Koster) of Yankton; grandparents, Roger and Gladys List of Utica; aunts and uncles: Cory (Shelly) List (Cassie, Christopher, Carissa, Hayden) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Jason (Alicia) List (Olivia, Owen) of Yankton; Nathan (Lauren) List (Anders, Elin) of New Orleans, Louisiana; Michael Harts (Melissa Byrd) of Yankton; Sara (Joel) Bartscher of Renner, South Dakota; and Ryan (Danielle) Schievelbein of Aurora, South Dakota; many cousins and his best friend, Bear.
