Beata was born March 5, 1933 to Anton J. and Cecelia C. (Sudbeck) Lammers on the family farm West of Hartington. She attended the Lammers Ranch School and St. John’s Elementary School in Fordyce and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hartington. Beata lived and worked on the farm nearly her whole life, taking care of her parents, gardening, mowing, and keeping up their home. She and her brother Linus moved into Hartington in January 2016. Beata moved to the Arbor Care Living Center in February of 2023.
Beata liked to socialize but also enjoyed farm life. She said the most significant change in her lifetime was when they got electricity to the farm on July 26, 1946. She enjoyed spending time with family and loved playing Sheephead, and she especially enjoyed family history and reminiscing about the old days. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Fordyce and St. John’s Ladies Guild. She joined Holy Trinity Catholic Church when they moved to Hartington. She was also a member of the Help You Neighbor Club of Pleasant Valley, helping other members whenever the need arose. She enjoyed bowling, watching baseball and traveling to see her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her brother, Roman (Margie) Lammers of Calimesa, California and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: John “Jack” Lammers in 2016; Richard “Dick” Lammers in 2023; and Linus Lammers in 2023; two infant sisters: Lorrayne and Catherine and nephews: Brian and Gary Lammers.
